 Images Linebreak
Trance Software:

LineBreak is a simple utility for Mac OS X that converts line breaks in text documents. It can convert to Mac, UNIX®, and Windows/DOS formats. It is written entirely in Cocoa and supports drag and drop from the Finder. LineBreak is a Universal Binary (works great on PPC and Intel Macs).

LineBreak is Free Software

LineBreak is licensed under the GNU GPL. This means that not only is LineBreak monetarily free, but the source code is made freely available as well.

This application rocks! Need to make a command file for Halo on the Mac? Use this to convert the .txt file to windows linefeeds. Good Soup!

Amazing Brushed Aluminum "Von Slatt Keyboard"

 Vonslattkeyboard Finished1
Brushed Aluminum "Von Slatt Keyboard":

Richard Nagy is an awesome artist, very much steeped in steampunk designory.

This keyboard was made using a modern USB keyboard which turned out to be a major pain, but after some adjustments and fine-tuning, the keyboard is solid and the keystrokes smooth and responsive.

The keys are made using authentic vintage Royal typewriter keys with stainless steel rings and clear lenses. The spacebar was custom-made using a piece of border steel salvaged from an old picture frame and a piece of gloss black plastic.

The customer wanted it in a brushed aluminum finish, so we decided to keep a solid black-and-silver theme throughout. Once the metal work was roughed out, I noticed that with the drilled sides and brushed finish, the keyboard had a sort of "vintage aircraft" feel to it. With that in mind, I suggested that we add "jewel" style instrument lights like the kind that were used in old airplane cockpit panels and the customer agreed.

If you are interested in having one made for you, please do not hesitate to email him and do so. Word of warning: These are not cheap. Each keyboard is hand-made and polished, not laser-cut or stamped. This keyboard contains roughly 355 different pieces, all painstakingly assembled with loving care.

Daniel Keys Moran: Back In Black

Dan
Daniel Keys Moran:

Dan Moran is one cool guy. We've worked with a lot of "Hollywood Types", obviously a lot more well known than Dan is. We've never gone all 'oogly woogly' with them - with Dan, we did. The whole autograph thing. But you know, it's because he's a great one. Dan is mostly known as a SciFi author of several books (The Long Run being on our top 5 SciFi books of all time) and darn good writer of just general things too.

He's been missed sorely from the SciFi scene and just hearing from him in general. Yeah, he uses that 'I have a life thing' - which I know to be true - to take loving care of his kids and loving wife. Having recently found that he's back in the wind, I wanted to extend a warm hello and say, thanks for all the fish...

 I can has syntax?

200706091246

It is can be LOLCODE time plz?:

They're in ur Intarwebs, creating a programming language. The attack of the lolcats has spilled over to programming, with LOLCODE, a language based on the mangled grammar of lolcats. Pull up a buckit and I'll help wif ur understanding of LOLCODE.

Of course, like lolcats, LOLCODE has no practical or educational value, but that doesn't mean it isn't fun -- and how often do you have the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of the development of a programming language, anyway?

I can has syntax?

The LOLCODE language is still being developed, but you can start learning LOLCODE and even help shape its development. If you're a fan of lolcats, you'll find the syntax easy to remember. If you're not, you probably haven't read this far.

What introduction to a language would be complete without the ever-popular "Hello World!" example? LOLCODE provides a "HAI WORLD!" example instead.

LOLCODE I HAS IT You begin each LOLCODE application with the HAI statement. Next, use the LOLCODE print statement, VISIBLE, and finish your application with KTHXBYE:

HAI
VISIBLE "HAI WORLD!"
KTHXBYE

You'll notice, of course, that everything in LOLCODE is in all caps.

I'm in ur loop, iterating ur variable

To declare a variable in LOLCODE, use the I HAS A statement, like so:

I HAS A CHEEZBURGER

Here, we're declaring CHEEZBURGER as a variable. Let's take a look at a short script that will iterate CHEEZBURGER and print out its value:

HAI
I HAS A CHEEZBURGER ITZ 1

IM IN YR LOOP
VISIBLE "I has dis many: " N CHEEZBURGER
IZ CHEEZBURGER BIGGER THAN 11 O RLY?
YA RLY
GTFO
NO WAI
UP CHEEZBURGER!!1
KTHX
KTHX

KTHXBYE

The I HAS A statement declares the variable CHEEZBURGER as 1. The IM IN YR LOOP statement starts the loop.

Next, we print out the current number using the VISIBLE function. You need to include N CHEEZBURGER rather than just CHEEZBURGER to print out the value of CHEEZBURGER. Then we do a comparison test, to see if the value is greater than the amount we want to trigger the end of the loop. UP CHEEZBURGER!!1 tells LOLCODE to add one to the value of CHEEZBURGER.

When we do the test, if it matches (YA RLY) LOLCODE will GTFO and exit the loop. If it doesn't (NO WAI) it will iterate the variable again. Note that the loop ends with KTHX rather than KTHXBYE, which is recommended only for closing the whole program block. Finally, we end the program block with KTHXBYE.

 EMERGENCY FRESH WATER STORAGE

200706021612
WaterB.O.B.:

The WaterBOB™ turns any standard bathtub into an emergency water reserve, storing up to 100 gallons of fresh drinking water. Water stored in an open bathtub, with dirt, soap film and exposure to debris will spoil quickly and become useless.

When an emergency arises simply lay the WaterBOB™ in your bathtub, hookup to the faucet and fill to capacity. A siphon pump is included to easily dispense the water into jugs or pitchers. The WaterBOB™ follows FDA guidelines and is constructed of heavy-duty food grade plastic.

Living in Souther California and having gone through a couple major Earthquakes, we can pretty much say that this is a great idea®. For $22.95 you just can't go wrong here folks.

Citysquares Raises It's Skirts For Funding

Citysquares Raises First Round:
As we've covered in the past, Ben Saren of Citysquares (think overpriced hyperlocal websites for small businesses that don't know better) - has managed to con eCoast into funding his A round. I sincerely hope they took him to the cleaners on points. Perhaps it's time to ratchet up the blog machine and focus on his client base and let them know how he stole $10k from us. It's not like he just woke up and decided to not be a cheese weasel - his spots are not going to change. One nice thing though - we don't have to wake up next to that mug (nice receding hairline there buddy).

BTW, Ben. Nice digs you're in. We're going to be out there in Boston sometime this summer. We'll have to stop by and personally say hi. And hey, as always - keep sending us those letters. Every person we can find that has been screwed by Ben Saren is just one more nail in his corporate coffin. I want to thank the guys out here in Los Angeles for getting ahold of us about Scout.

 MenuPix!

Mx Logo
Menupix LA:

There's been several services for online menus and ordering for those late night munchies, lunch, dinner and working late at the office. Menupix is noteable in that they have done it right. Easy to find what you're looking for. Not tied to a specific advertising schtick and gives equal time to each eatery. They cover LA and other core cities in the US and are expanding. What's great about them is they have a scan of the actual menu with the listing. Dig in!

Check them out.
